Popular US Chain Cinnabon Opens At Raffles City in Singapore
Written by Amit Sharma, Community Development Manager
Cinnabon is now open in Singapore.
The popular US chain will be officially opening on Feb 9, 2023 Thursday, at Raffles City Shopping Centre, after its soft launch on Feb. 7 and 8.
Cinnabon®, one of the world's most recognized and sought-after bakery brands, is just as popular as a lucrative franchise opportunity as its fresh baked cinnamon rolls. The strong brand recognition, and a loyal customer base for its delicious and high-quality cinnamon rolls and a proven business model that has been successful for many years make it a popular choice for those looking to enter the food and beverage franchise industry.
The Cinnabon chain, known for its cinnamon rolls and frozen drinks, is owned by the American company Focus Brands, and has more than 1,600+ outlets across 50 countries and was established in 1985 in Seattle.
The master franchisee for the Singapore outlet is by Mr Alvin Ng, 39, who approached Focus Brands in 2019 to bring the brand to Singapore. Alvin Ng is also the master franchisee of Hong Kong bakery Hang Heung as well as Japanese brands Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory and LeTao. The former two brands are located at Raffles City as well.
Mr Ng revealed his plans to make the 20-set Raffles City outlet the brand's flagship store in Singapore and open ten outlets, including kiosks concepts, in the next five years.
"If you have the right brand and the right product, it can still work regardless of the timing," said Mr. Ng, adding that Hang Heung – which opened during the pandemic in August 2020 – is still doing well. "We want to do the brand justice this time around."
While the Cinnabon menu is largely the same as other outlets worldwide, which all use Makara cinnamon from Indonesia, the recipes are slightly tweaked to be less sweet.
