Jollibee Discontinues Dunkin' Business In Beijing, China

Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) recently announced the discontinuance of its Dunkin' business in Beijing due to the termination of the master franchise deal as it seeks to focus on its larger businesses in China moving forward.
In a regulatory filing, Jollibee Worldwide Pte Ltd, Jasmine Asset Holdings Ltd and Dunkin' Donuts Franchising LCC announced the termination of the Master Franchise Agreement for Dunkin', which covers select territories in China, Hong Kong and Macau. It added that operations of Beijing Golden Cup, which operates 7 Dunkin in Beijing, have also been terminated.
The franchise agreement was entered into on Jan 5, 2015, between Singapore-based Golden Cup Pte. Ltd. (owned by Jollibee Worldwide) and Dunkin' Donuts Franchising LLC to open new restaurants in certain territories, including seven outlets in Beijing. The JFC business portfolio also includes the brands Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Burger King, Highlands Coffee, PHO24, Hard Rock Cafe, Smashburger, Tortas Frontera, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Panda Express.
In addition, JFC said it looks forward to building a significant business in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau through expanding other brands. So far, it has 418 Yonghe King stores, 55 Hong Zhuang Yuan and 13 Tim Ho Wan stores in China. It also has 21 Jollibee stores in Hong Kong and three in Macau. JFC has a network of 6,351 stores globally as of Nov 15, 2022.
For its part, Dunkin' plans to continue its expansion across China and the broader region through franchising deals.
